5 agencies have already agreed to work with Facebook on this subject: Childnet International, The Family Online Safety Institute, Common Sense Media, and ConnectSafely WiredSafety. Other members will join the latest security advisory council to broaden its scope.
The first task that the group will tackle is the redesign of the center support and security of Facebook. Thus, the group plans to adapt as much as possible information for parents, teachers and adolescents. This development comes just after the closure of Facebook and MySpace groups and accounts belonging to sex offenders. According to Richard Allan, the Advisory Board is a security step and will continue to promote a safer environment on the social network.
