Pioneer DEH-P4100SD Audio Device

Pioneer has launched the DEH-P4100SD, a new CD Tuner that’s compatible with all common digital formats and ‘virtually any’ digital audio device. A traditional CD player first, the head unit is the first from Pioneer to include an integrated SD slot for playback of audio files stored therein. The slot is located behind the front panel, which opens and closes to reveal it. A USB 2.0 connector is also included for hooking up MP3 player and the like, while Bluetooth is catered to only via an optional (and thus not free) CD-BTB200 adapter. As you’d expect with most Pioneer products, the main focus above features is audio quality, provided by the 24-bit Delta Sigma DAC and backed up by Pioneer’s ASR technology that claims to replace the harmonics lost during compression to digital files.
Power comes from the MOSFET 4×50W amplifier, though more muscle is on tap from the RCA pre-out connector for attaching another amp. Available this month, the Pioneer DEH-PS4100SD retails at £190.
